ManagedPay greatly relies on a software application named PayChoice. It is difficult to use and they weren’t receiving the technical support they needed. Plus, the version they were using was antiquated and didn’t work well with their updated computer equipment.
ManagedPay wanted to stay with the software for a number of strategic reasons before switching to a newer version. We were instrumental in working with them to find a fix so they could continue to use and maintain this software. The application is DOS-based, but is still being used today. We implemented a terminal services solution to workaround the DOS limitations. At first we used Microsoft technologies, but more recently, we implemented a VMware and HP virtualized environment to keep the software running.

We weren’t ready to upgrade to the new version for a number of reasons, and needed to continue running it on our new machines. GDS extended the life expectancy of PayChoice, considerably. The payroll business requires that we produce end-of-year reports. This typically happens over the Christmas holiday. GDS is there for us regardless of the time or day. We have the peace of mind knowing that they are always there.”
